Senior Citizens Lunch - 20th February

About 90 people enjoyed a tasty two-course meal at Tewin Memorial Hall.  There was much laughter and conversation as people chatted to old friends and new!  The lunch was followed by a light-hearted quiz which tested all our brain cells and the aftenoon ended with tea and chocolates.  We also delivered 10 meals to the homes of people who weren't able to attend.

We had some very kind comments from people telling us they had a great afternoon.  We are pleased the lunch was such a success, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to serve and cook the lunch and give Tewin's senior citizens a great afternoon, we couldn't have managed without you.

Dancing around the Maypole  - 3rd May

3rd May saw the children of Tewin Cowper School put on a lovely display of Maypole dancing. Although the weather was a bit cold and cloudy many parents and villagers came along to support them all. Their hard work practicing clearly showed and the look on their faces showed how much fun they were having!

So a big thank you to the children and their teachers alike.

Scarecrows Weekend - 18th/19th May

Our Scarecrow Weekend was a great success and we saw some splendid creations.  Clearly the families who entered had put a lot of thought into their scarecrow designs and had let their imaginations run wild!

Tewin Classic Car & Craft Show - 18th August

Although early rain during the setting up of the show did it's best to dampen our spirits, we managed to keep going and once again put on a great classic car show and provide a wonderful event for Tewin.

We had about 400 classic cars and bikes on display which made for a wonderful scene on Upper Green.  The weather was much kinder to us during the show itself and large crowds came to look around the cars and the Craft Stalls which had lots of interesting and unique items for sale.

Friends of Tewin wants to thank those who helped, both on the day and in the planning of the car show.  Our thanks include the people who bake such tasty cakes for us and who also help to serve the refreshments throughout the day.  Our thanks also go to the people who help in the Information Tent and to those who act as Marshals on the showground and in the Public Car Park.  Thank you so much to everyone.

Carols around the Christmas Tree - 19th December

Unfortunately the weather on the 19th December was not kind to us and the event was moved into the Hall at Tewin Cowper School.   The bad weather meant that lots of people stayed at home and who could blame them!

We want to thank our regular brass band who came to play for us and what we lacked in numbers we made up for in volume as everyone enjoyed singing along to their favourite Christmas Carols and songs.

The Carols rounded off our year nicely.  2019 was a busy but enjoyable year for Friends of Tewin.  Many thanks to everyone who has supported us this year.
