Tewin Walk 8 - Marden Hill (Foxgloves in June)

Proceed to Back Lane just left of the Rose & Crown, bearing right pass Molly’s farm; sharp left (as if back tracking), taking a straight course > the Old Rectory (ending along the edge of the Barn), cross the road (take extra care – may encounter fast cars) to St Peter’s church.

Proceed to back of church and pick up footpath (Public footpath>Hertford Road), through kissing gates, going east towards Marden Hill; past stables, cross a country lane (watch for traffic), continue straight line towards Marden Hill House, lime tree avenue, pass ha ha, turn left at gate, straight up slight incline and through another gate, arriving at the frontal of MH house.

Proceed down the long drive towards the Lodge, cross Hertford Road (watch for traffic) to Bramfield Road until you meet the Bacon’s Farm footpath. Follow the “footpath > Marden Hill” sign, turn left towards Hertford Road, cross it to Marden Hill. Pass Mereden Cottage to pick up the footpath at gate just pass the entrance to MH house, go through kissing gate and follow path, approx 200 yards, to next set of kissing gates, take right hand footpath to join the path going to Lamb Dells woods, crossing a little wooden bridge at the bottom, then up the hill towards Tewin and exit at gate on the Hertford Road, turn left, 50 yds towards the village shop and back to Lower Green.
