A small group of volunteers working under the aegis of TEWIN PARISH COUNCIL have produced the following two documents:
A brief landscape history of the Mimram Valley - October 2021
The case for a local landscape designation - January 2022
This work represents the first stage of the Lower Mimram Valley Initiative (LMVI) conceived in response to significant threats to the vulnerable environment between Welwyn Garden City, Digswell and Tewin Village.
Hard copies will also be available to view at Tewin Stores.
Stage 2 of LMVI will include: participation in the statutory plan making process; preparation of a landscape recovery plan; the set up of a ‘Friends of Marden Fields’ website; constitution of a community enterprise to implement plans for the benefit of local people.”
