Tewin Table Tennis Club

Tewin Table Tennis Club was formed in 2014 and plays in the Tewin Cowper School Hall in Cannons Meadow, Tewin AL6 0JT.

A club evening open to all is held on Tuesday evenings from September till June. The club is closed during the months of July and August. Players of all ages over 10 years old and all standards, including beginners, are welcome to come along and play.

The club is open to all from 7pm-10pm and provides all equipment including bats and balls. There is no annual membership fee but a charge of £3 per evening for adults and £2 for those receiving full time education, which includes free soft drinks, is applicable.

On a club evening the emphasis is to provide a friendly, social environment with a lesser emphasis on serious match play.

In addition the club has two teams entered in the St. Albans, Hatfield and Welwyn Table Tennis League. Home league matches are played in the Tewin Cowper School Hall on Thursday evenings starting at 7.30pm.

With both teams beginning life in the 4th Division of the League our first team won the 4th and 3rd divisional titles in successive years and may be in line for promotion to the 1st Division as the 2019/20 season draws to a close.

The second team have won the Division 4 title for the 2019/20 season, the team included 2 players now aged 13 and 16 years who have been members of the club since its formation.

In addition the Club won the Harvey Shield in the 2018/19 season. a Handicap event open to all league teams. Considerable success has also been achieved by our players at the League’s Annual Individual Championships.
