Welcome to 'Screen On The Green' Tewin.
Looking forward to seeing all you fans of foreign movies on Monday 17th March when we are showing A Bout de Souffle (Breathless) (1960), in French with subtitles.
Written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard in 1960, this is a "Nouvelle Vague" (New Wave) crime/drama (plus romance!) starring Jean-Paul Belmondo as Michel, a petty theif who steals a car and runs over a policemen. Penniless and on the run, he meets Patricia (Jean Seberg), a young American journalist who offers him asylum. Then Michel tries to seduce Patricia into running away with him to Italy.
A Bout de Souffle is a seminal work of the "Nouvelle Vague", a classic example of the subtle humour and cinematographic grace of French cinema. It is Godard's first feature-length film and represented Belmondo's breakthrough as an actor.
So come along for an evening out at your lcal village fim club.
