Welcome to 'Screen On The Green' Tewin
Next film night is Monday 15th September.
We start our new season of the village film club with "To Catch a Thief" (1955), a romantic thriller set in the south of France - a bit of escapism in a troubled world. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, it's an opportunity to watch Cary Grant and Grace Kelly at their best.
A series of ingenious jewel thefts takes place along the Cote d'Azure and a notorious but now retired cat burglar, John Robie (Cary Grant), is the main suspect. Robie decides to protect himself by finding the real thief. It's a departure from Hitchcock's normal dark murderous thrillers with a light-hearted ingenious script and set in the glamorous world of the rich and famous.
Since our village film club started in 2012 we have shown over one hundred films, covering a wide range of genres - comedy, drama, thriller, musical, classic, art house, foreign language, fact-based and sci-fi.
