Welcome to 'Screen On The Green' Tewin
Next film night is Monday 20th October
We are showing a French Movie - "Pierrot Le Fou" (1969), written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard and starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina.
It's a strange, disjointed, almost comic story of Ferdinand, a man who tires of family life in Paris, and runs off with a former girlfriend to the south of France, getting mixed up with hoodlums attempting to recover stolen cash. Echoes of Buster Keaton, Monty Python, the Goons, John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The motion picture equivalent of modern art.
For all its craziness, Pierrot Le Fou is a beautifully shot movie, thought provoking, with interesting musical interludes and comments on the current political situation of the time. It is widely regarded as director Godard's quintessential work.
Since our village film club started in 2012 we have shown over one hundred films, covering a wide range of genres - comedy, drama, thriller, musical, classic, art house, foreign language, fact-based and sci-fi.
