Welcome to 'Screen On The Green' Tewin

Next film night is Monday 8th December

Our December film is the classic musical "Cabaret" (1972), starring Liza Minelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem and Marisa Berensen.

Set in Berlin in 1931 during the Weimar Republic, it tells the story of Sally Bowles an American cabaret singer who performs at the Kit Kat Klub, Brian Roberts, a British academic who is finishing his university studies, and Maximilian, a wealthy decadent playboy.  It is based on the life story of Christopher Isherwood who co-wrote the screenplay.

With great performances and evocative musical numbers, Cabaret is a stylish, socially aware classic.  It won an amazing 8 Oscars (but not Best Picture!) and was selected for inclusion in the US National Film Registry.

Since our village film club started in 2012 we have shown over one hundred films, covering a wide range of genres - comedy, drama, thriller, musical, classic, art house, foreign language, fact-based and sci-fi.

Looking further ahead, the programme for 2026 includes

Dirty Dancing, The Ballad of Wallis Island, and The Death of Stalin.

So come along for a fun evening at our local village film club.   And who knows, maybe there'll be some mince pies as well.

Doors open 7pm for 7.45pm start.  Complimentary tea or coffee.  Ice cream on sale.  Tickets from Tewin Stores or on the door, priced £4.  Bring your own drinks and nibbles for a jolly night out at the Tewin Memorial Hall.
