THACS is launching its Winter activities with a Christmas card competition for adults and children.
This competition is open to everyone. There are no entry fees and no need to complete an entry form.
You are invited to paint or draw a picture for the front of a Christmas card on A5 paper or card. The picture can be in either portrait or landscape orientation but must not include any greeting or caption (this competition is for your painting or drawing only).
We will split the entries into different age groups and have separate judging and prizes for each one.
The Adult group is for people who are 18 years and over. The children’s age groups are defined according to school years as follows:-
Junior. Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2 (up to 7 years old)
Primary. Years 3 -6 (7-11 years old)
Secondary. Years 7-13 (11-17 years old).
When you prepare your picture for submission, please make sure to include all of the information we’ll need to deal with your entry:-
- If you are entering the adult group, please include your full name and contact details (postal address, telephone number and email address).
- If you are entering any of the other groups, please include your full name, school year, age (as on 5th November 2020) and the name and contact details of your parent / guardian or teacher
Please place your entry in an envelope marked “THACS Competition” and submit it to either:
Ray Keppler, 15 Upper Green Road, Tewin, AL6 0LE, or
Lynne Burgess, 14, Bishops Road, Tewin Wood, AL6 0NS.
The closing date is 5th November.
The panel of judges will pick the top three entries for each age group and award them small prizes. They will also select an overall winner from the children’s entries and that winning picture will be printed as Christmas cards to be sold locally in aid of our chosen charity – Digswell Nurseries. Photographs of all of the prize-winning entries will be displayed on the THACS web page of the Tewin village website.
We will announce the winners and display the photographs of their entries on the THACS web page as soon as possible after the judging (our target date is 16th November). Then the prizes will be delivered and, so far as possible, all of the pictures will be returned to their originators.
We aim to have the cards available for sale by the end of November. More information on this will follow.
If you have any questions about this competition, please contact either Ray Keppler (01438 717545, email@example.com) or Lynne Burgess (01438 798799, firstname.lastname@example.org).
