Minutes of previous meeting Action
6.1.2 BR proposed acceptance of the
minutes and this was seconded by PH.

Matters arising

TC is still waiting for
a reply from John Barton

TC still has to try to sell the military uniform. TC

PB still has to find somewhere to sell the scales. PB

TC to speak to MH about lights and badminton. TC.
4. Chairman’s Report
4.1 The fete plans are well under way.
5. Treasurer’s Report
5.1 PB has completed the charities commission
returns, finished the gift aid application and sent the accounts to the parish
council.
5.2 PB has
had problems with late rental payments, these should
be paid within 25 days.
5.2 Supporters’ Club
LC has passed on membership forms to 3 people and PB awaits their return.
6.Sub-Committee Reports
6.1 Fabric Committee
6.1.1 There are some items that need
repairing in Janes flat, RF to obtain quotes.
6.1.2 The guttering has been knocked off on the corner again.
6.1.3 When the amplifier was used at Xmas there was a problem unless the microphone was held close to the mouth. RF to investigate and resolve for the fete.
6.1.4 The bill for the electrical work has still not been received and the last piece of work has not been completed.
6.1.5 The fire equipment has been checked and found to be satisfactory. RF will arrange for the alarm to be tested when they visit again in six months.
6.1.6 TC/RF to agree which door should
replace the fire door on the stage. TC/RF
6.1.7 KSP has met with Ted Tyler to look
at gates for the front of the Hall. The options were metal or wooden gates. The
conservation officer in Hertford had said that the same style would be
acceptable and that wood might be easier to match in to the building style. KSP
showed some different styles of gates and a style was agreed.
6.1.8 The broken fridge freezer has been removed, this still leaves a fridge and a freezer.
6.1.9 The old plastic chairs have been
placed outside and an advert will be placed in the Parish News to see if anyone
wanted to take them. TC
6.2 Health & Safety
PAT testing is needed on electrical equipment, PB will ask Mill Green electrical what they would
charge. PB
RF will ask Village Hall Advisory Service
how often this should happen. RF
6.3 Decorating Committee
In the autumn it would be good to redecorate the kitchen, bar and toilets.
6.4 Fund Raising Committee
650 flyers have been produced for distribution round the village,
committee members were asked for help with this. Posters to promote the fancy
dress competition will go up the next day and flyers will be put up on
telegraph poles etc at the weekend. Entrance gates should be narrower.
KSP to ask Caroline Macfarlane whether the next Parish Council newsletter will
be ready to distribute with fete flyers. KSP
7.Group Reports
7.1 Under Fives
There was nothing to report.
7.2 Parish Council
A letter will be sent to those living in the conservation area reminding the residents that they live in a conservation area.
7.3 Friends of Tewin
7.3.1 The licence application for the barn dance will go in the next day.
7.3.2 On 18th

There was nothing to report.

7.5.1 50 people
had attended the
7.5.2 Tewin gardens and allotments will open on 28th May.
8. Any Other Business
8.1 BR had lent two photos of the Hall from the archives and wanted them back. PH to return. PH
8.2 Peter Walters has spent a lot of time
revising the Hall section on the village website and this is now operational.
