ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

MONDAY 20TH FEBRUARY 2012 AT 8PM IN TEWIN MEMORIAL HALL

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN

At the AGM in February 2011, Christine Sheridan our Treasurer resigned after 7 years of service. Ben Roberts our President presented Christine with a bouquet of flowers and thanked her very much for her time and for keeping our accounts in such meticulous order. All the other committee members were voted to stay on and Brenda Barber agreed to act as Treasurer. We then had a vacancy which was filled by Kevin Brazier. Later in the evening we were approached by David Howson who also expressed an interest in joining the committee, he was co-opted on for 2011. Ben Roberts was re-elected as our President.

Also in February our annual Senior Citizens Lunch was attended by 64 people in Tewin Memorial Hall and we sent out 8 meals for folk who are housebound. After lunch we had a quiz and were entertained byTewinCowperSchoolchildren who showed us their ballroom dancing skills.

In May the children again danced around the Maypole on Lower Green. This was very much enjoyed by all who attended.

July was the month for our very successful coach outing this year going to Whitstable andCanterbury. The weather turned out to be perfect for us.

The weather was not so good for our bi-annual Scarecrow Competition held in the village. We had to abandon selling programmes on the Saturday because it was so wet but despite the rain all the scarecrows made an appearance and were seen again on the Sunday which was a dry day.

August brought the `Classic Car and Craft Show` which grows more popular each year.

In October we held a Coffee Morning instead of our usual Tea Party. We also had stalls of Bring and Buy, books, plants and a Craft stall.

December is the `Carols around the Christmas Tree` event. This year the proceeds of the raffle went to the charity “Shelter”.

During the year we have organized two Book Sales for the Hall and manned the gates at the Village Fete. We have helped to clean up the pond on the Upper Green and donated money for bulbs. Amounts of money have also been given to nearly every group in the village following the successful day in August. Who has benefited and amounts can be seen at the F of TAGM to be held in the Tewin Memorial Hall on Monday 20th February 2012 at 8pm.
